Our Story

Sandia Marble Design & Remodeling has been part of Albuquerque's building community since 1999. The company started by manufacturing and installing cultured marble for bathrooms, and by the mid-2000s, it had expanded into stone countertop fabrication and installation — cutting slabs with a rail saw and hand-cut templates in the early days, long before digital tools were part of the trade.

In July 2014, new ownership took the helm with a clear vision: keep the craftsmanship that built the company's reputation, and build the systems and capabilities to grow it responsibly. Since then, the original cultured marble and stone fabrication foundation has grown into three integrated lines of business — cultured marble manufacturing and installation, full-scale stone fabrication and installation, and, starting in August 2023, full design-build residential remodeling. What was once measured by hand and cut with a rail saw is now digitally templated on-site and precision-cut on a CNC machine — the same craftsmanship, backed by tools that give every cut greater accuracy and consistency.

That growth hasn't been about getting bigger for its own sake. It's been about giving customers fewer handoffs and more accountability. When one company designs and builds your project, fabricates your stone, and installs it, there's no finger-pointing between subcontractors and no surprises from mismatched expectations. On the design-build side, clients see their project in photorealistic 3D renderings before a single wall comes down — so there's no guessing what the finished space will look like. Our team — skilled tradespeople, operations, project coordinator, designers, and estimators — controls the process from the first sketch to the final installation.

Today, Sandia Marble is licensed residential contractor, lead-safe renovation, and we run on the same rigor we'd want from any contractor working in our own homes: careful cost tracking, real quality control, and a genuine investment in training the next generation of craftspeople. We're an A-rated Better Business Bureau member and a Google Guaranteed local business — third-party recognition of the trust we work to earn on every job.
